Publication of 100 New Book Titles in Alborz Book Week
According to the correspondent of Iran’s Book News Agency (IBNA) in Karaj, Ebrahim Sharifi stated this morning in a press conference, detailing the programs of Book Week: During this period, 100 newly published book titles, all products of local publishers’ efforts, will be unveiled. These works cover fields such as fiction literature, poetry, historical research, and the geography of the province, demonstrating the high capacity of Alborz writers.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the local publishing cycle, adding: Every new book published in the province is a step towards Alborz’s cultural independence, and we consider it our duty to support this movement.
Honoring Active Literary Associations
According to Sharifi, at the Book Week commemoration ceremony, 15 top literary associations of the province will be honored for their continuous activities in promoting reading and literary discussions. This appreciation includes awarding certificates of honor and financial support for their future meetings.
Sharifi, referring to the significant growth of cultural productions in the province, said: This year, Alborz will set a new record in unveiling published works, and this success is the result of synergy among the province’s cultural institutions.
Focus on Children’s and Young Adult Literature
Among other prominent programs this week is the twenty-fifth critical review session of children’s and young adult books, focusing on the work ‘The Lovely Butterfly’s Adventure,’ organized in cooperation with the Art Bureau and the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. The Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Alborz added: Paying attention to the production of suitable content for the new generation is one of our main priorities in this period.
Side Programs of Book Week
Sharifi also announced play readings with the presence of prominent theater professors from the country and the unveiling of three books on the theme of sacrifice and martyrdom, in cooperation with the Foundation for the Preservation of Sacred Defense Works and Values.
He continued: In the counties/districts, programs like Alborz Studies will also be held with prominent researchers, and the closing ceremony of Book Week will take place on November 19 at Milad Club in Karaj, hosted by the General Directorate of Public Libraries of the province.
