Review of the book ‘On the Beauty of the Soul’

Religion and Thought Service, Iran Book News Agency (IBNA): On the occasion of the publication of the book ‘On the Beauty of the Soul: Seven Letters to a Long-Lost Friend’, published by Farhang Gharar and Negarestan Andisheh Publications, the fifty-fourth Tuesday evening of Bukhara has been dedicated to reviewing this book.

This session, attended by Hossein Abolhassan Tanhaee, Hamid Ajami, Ehsan Afshar, and Ali Dehbashi, will be held at 5 PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2025, in Dr. Rouhalamini Hall at Negarestan Garden Museum.

The book ‘On the Beauty of the Soul’ is a literary and philosophical work by François Cheng, translated by Ehsan Afshar, and published as the first work by Farhang Gharar Publications.

François Cheng, a French poet, philosopher, and calligrapher of Chinese descent, speaks in this short and profound work of an experience that, despite its simplicity, is the foundation of the art of authentic living: recognizing the beauty of the soul. In this book, he strives, through dialogue, listening, and observation, to remind us that behind every human being, every nature, and every sound, there is a hidden soul thirsting for meaning and connection. He is the first Chinese-born writer to become a member of the Académie française.

Negarestan Garden Museum is located in Baharestan Square, Daneshsara Street, Shariatmadar Rafie Street.
