«Letter, Rain, and Light» Published
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Mashhad, Rumi’s letters were first published in Iran under the title «Maktoobat-e Mawlana Jalal al-Din Rumi». In this forthcoming work, an effort has been made to compile excerpts from the letters that have the least distance from the mind and language of today’s audience, so that with a little necessary explanation about the meaning of some words and phrases, a strong connection is established between the text and the reader. The fragmented excerpts presented here are arranged in such a way that their connection with the entirety of Rumi’s epistles is preserved, and the reader encounters them as if the entire collection constitutes a new, independent letter, a feature that distinguishes this treatise from the repetitive pattern of existing selections from ancient texts.
The book «Letter, Rain, and Light; Excerpts from Rumi’s Letters», selected, reported, and corrected by Sa’eed Rezadoost, with layout and design by Zahra Salehnejad, was published in the autumn of 1404 (Persian calendar) by Sepideh Bawaran Publishing in 92 pages, in quarto size, with a kraft cover and soft-balk paper, priced at 170,000 Tomans, in an edition of 990 copies.
