Fifth Hegmataneh Pen Award to be Held During Book Week in Hamedan / Book Exhibition and Sale to be Held
Seyed Mohammad Reza Javadi, in an interview with the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Hamedan, stated: Extensive planning has been undertaken in Hamedan province for a diverse set of cultural, educational, and promotional activities during the 33rd Book Week.
He added: These programs will begin with the unveiling of the official Book Week poster, followed by sessions introducing newly published books in the province.
Javadi further stated: Holding book exhibitions and sales in cities and towns to provide public access to newly published works is also on the agenda.
He also emphasized the importance of honoring the province’s cultural figures and continued: This week will feature a commemoration for the veteran author, the late Mousa Nasri, and a speech before Friday prayers by the Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the province is also foreseen.
The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Hamedan, noting that the fifth Hegmataneh Pen Award, aimed at selecting the book of the year for Hamedan province, will also be held during this period, said: In the sphere of public activities, programs such as “Happy March in the Village with Books,” the “Kind Book Companion” campaign, and the “Sound of Books in the Village” program will be implemented.
He mentioned the provincial exhibition of new books, the “One Day with an Author” program, “One Week with Books in Media,” and a book review workshop for teenagers and youth with the presence of Mostafa Rahmandoust as other anticipated programs for the 33rd event in the province.
Javadi referred to the holding of a book exhibition and sale at the Central Library of Hamedan and visits to the province’s bookstores, and spoke about the book launch ceremony for Gholamreza Baktash’s new book, also with Mostafa Rahmandoust.
He said: A gathering of the province’s publishers and authors, donation of books to educational centers, libraries, and affiliated departments, and the provincial printing industry festival are also part of this week’s programs.
He added that exemplary librarians of the province would be honored, saying: In the academic and educational sector, a book exhibition and sale titled “My City’s Author” will be held in schools and university centers, and authors and their works will be introduced through environmental and media advertisements across the province.
Javadi concluded: We have strived to make the Book Week programs in Hamedan province both diverse and inclusive, and to be implemented with the active participation of cultural, educational, and media stakeholders. I hope this event will pave the way for strengthening the culture of reading and cultural dialogue across the province.
