Games and Marine Entertainment with Mathematics
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), mathematics is usually not a lovable subject for children, but should it be left as is? Should children always suffer in math class and teachers be bothered by lazy students? Of course, teaching methods need to be reformed, but some supplementary methods can be very effective in making difficult and unlovable subjects easier for children.
For example, if we teach this very math lesson to children with games, entertainment, songs, and cheerful and creative images, their engagement with this subject may increase. In the book ‘Sea Math Brain Club,’ an effort has been made to teach mathematical concepts to children through games and entertainment; for instance, similarities or differences in shapes along with their quantity, and finding image directions are some of the methods used for learning math in this book.
At its beginning, a brief introduction to Maryam Mirzakhani, the late and prominent mathematician, is featured. Math education in this book is completely accompanied by games and entertainment, and at the beginning of each chapter, a children’s song introduces the lesson to be followed. There are also stickers in the book so that, alongside theoretical education, children can benefit from games, entertainment, and crafting for better learning.
‘Sea Math Brain Club’ was written by Elaheh Shafieeabadi and published by Mehrsa Publications, making it available to enthusiasts for 98,000 Tomans.
