«Lady Moon» a narrative of the epic of women of this land
According to the Public Relations of Astan Beh Nashr Publications, the book «Lady Moon», authored by Sajedeh Taghizadeh, narrates the luminous life of Ms. Naz Alinejad, the esteemed wife of martyr Shirali Soltani, which has received attention and commendation from the Supreme Leader.
«Lady Moon» is the story of the steadfastness and resilience of a woman who, in the prime of her youth and with five children, lost her husband in the Beit ol-Moqaddas operation and took on the heavy responsibility of raising her children and managing life alone.
This heroic lady, relying on God and with firm resolve, by working hours behind the sewing machine, not only raised her children with good character and respect but also transformed them into successful and influential individuals for society. This book is not just a memoir; it is a research into the lifestyle of an Iranian Muslim woman, demonstrating how she can succeed in both family responsibilities and the social arena under the toughest conditions, acting as a ‘role model’ and a ‘human-building factory’.
The author of the book, Sajedeh Taghizadeh, spent five years writing this work and tried to adhere to documentation and interviews, minimizing the intrusion of imagination in the narrative.
Beh Nashr Publications, by releasing this work, has taken a significant step in introducing and honoring the silent epics and the unparalleled role of women during the Sacred Defense. The achievement of the nineteenth print of this work with over 18,000 copies and receiving commendation from the Supreme Leader is clear evidence of the book’s value and the widespread reception by the public and cultural figures.
In a part of the book, we read:
Since the Eid when Haji became a martyr, I never managed to take the children out for Sizdah Be-dar. It required a car and equipment, and with four or five young children, I couldn’t arrange recreation. That day, I promised we would have a proper Sizdah Be-dar under the tree in the yard. Near noon, I went into the yard and was moving things around so the children could play. As I was busy, my foot accidentally hit the chipboard sheets we had bought to build Haji’s tomb library. For a moment, I didn’t understand what happened; I only heard the sound of my ribs and chest bones crushing under the heavy chipboard sheets. From my jaw and neck down, I was being crushed under the chipboard, and I couldn’t move at all. The children screamed and ran into the yard, but they couldn’t do anything. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t move even a bit of these heavy sheets. Everything went black before my eyes, and I felt suffocated. There was no one to help me. I fixed my wet eyes on the sky and saw the sun for the last time. I heard Razieh’s and Fakhroddin’s cries for help from the alley. Tears rolled from the corner of my eyes, and my eyes closed. Ammar burst into tears and said, ‘Mommy, don’t die!’
‘Mommy, don’t die!’ I said goodbye to the world. I knew no one would come to help us. We were left alone. Everyone had gone for Sizdah Be-dar…
