Kerman Book Fair will be held on December 10

According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Kerman, Hossein Eshaghi stated on Monday afternoon at a press conference with media representatives: “This year’s book fair will be held on December 10, featuring various side programs, specialized sessions, book unveilings, and the presence of prominent publishers from across the country.”

He added: “This exhibition is a valuable opportunity for cultural enthusiasts, writers, and book readers.”

The Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Kerman province, referring to upcoming programs under a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Guidance, along with provincial plans, said: “We have on our agenda the grand organization of Book Week programs, a book purchase discount scheme, the book fair, the selection of the Book of the Year, the Khajoo Award Festival, a literary festival, and the commemoration of the Persian language.”

He also mentioned Kerman province’s media potential, stating: “Kerman province is one of the media-rich provinces that generally has good capacities in this area.”

Eshaghi stated: “We strive to be proactive in the field of culture and art and to move forward in line with upstream documents and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.”

Eshaghi, stating that “we have tried to utilize artists and specialists in our programs,” added: “We used elites from each respective field for every program, and the establishment of professional associations in the fields of culture, media, and religion was also placed on the agenda.”

He emphasized that the main focus of the programs is returning to the people, cultural justice, and leveraging the capacities of media and art professionals.

The Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Kerman further added: “This year, 72 cultural, artistic, media, and educational programs have been developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, which will be implemented with a budget exceeding 45 billion tomans. These programs encompass areas such as reading promotion, Quranic studies, education, animation, cultural luminaries, fashion and attire, institutional empowerment, and the artists’ credit fund.”

Referring to the annual Dehziar National Ta’zieh Mourning Ceremony, he stated: “We plan to hold this ceremony in future years in a better and grander manner, with a broader scope of Ta’zieh performances across Kerman city, separate from Dehziar.”
