TEHRAN – A Persian translation of Scottish psychiatrist Ronald David Laing’s book “Knots” has been published by Tehran-based Cheshmeh Publications.

The book has been translated by Amir-Hossein Kianpour. It is a collection of poems and prose pieces that explore the complex and often paradoxical nature of human relationships and communication.

About “Knots”

First published in 1970, “Knots” is one of Laing’s most famous works, characterized by its unique style of short, often dialogue-based sequences that illustrate psychological impasses and interpersonal dynamics. Laing was a prominent figure in the anti-psychiatry movement, and his work often challenged conventional views on mental illness and sanity.

  • The book uses simple language to delve into profound philosophical and psychological dilemmas.
  • It has been widely influential in psychology, philosophy, and literary studies.
  • Cheshmeh Publications is known for introducing significant international works to Persian readers.

Kianpour’s translation aims to make Laing’s intricate ideas accessible to a broader Iranian audience, preserving the original’s nuanced tone and complex implications.
