The First Book Advisory Council Formed in Kashmar

IBNA: The first “Book Advisory Council” has been established in Kashmar, aiming to promote reading and support the development of local libraries and publishing activities. The council, comprising cultural officials, librarians, authors, and educators, held its inaugural meeting today at the Kashmar Public Library.

Its primary objectives include identifying local reading needs, advising on book acquisition for libraries, organizing literary events, and fostering collaborations between publishers and cultural institutions. Mr. Ali Hosseini, the head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Kashmar, emphasized the council’s crucial role in formulating effective strategies to enhance reading culture and literacy rates in the city and its surrounding areas.

The council also discussed plans for the upcoming National Book Week activities.
