Review of the book ‘Civil Resistance in the Arab Spring’
The book “Civil Resistance in the Arab Spring” by Dr. Hamid Reza Jalaeipour and Dr. Mohammad Sadr will be critically reviewed. This academic work, published by Negah-e Moaser Publications, offers an in-depth analysis of non-violent movements during the Arab Spring uprisings.
The review session, organized by the Iranian Sociological Association, aims to evaluate the book’s methodology, findings, and contributions to understanding contemporary social movements. Expert panelists will discuss the concepts of civil disobedience and the role of popular resistance in political transitions, as presented in the book.
This event provides a platform for intellectual discourse on the complex dynamics of the Arab Spring and its implications for future resistance movements globally. The book itself explores various case studies and theoretical frameworks, making it a significant addition to the literature on political sociology.
The public is invited to attend the session on Wednesday, November 29th, at 3 PM, at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tehran.
