First Book Consultative Council Formed in Kashmar

IBNA News Agency – The first Book Consultative Council has been formed in Kashmar, aiming to promote reading and support public libraries in the city.

According to the Iranian Book News Agency (IBNA), this council, comprising cultural officials, librarians, educators, and local community representatives, will be responsible for devising strategies to enhance book access and foster a vibrant reading culture.

Hojjatoleslam Hossein Taheri, head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Kashmar, stated: “The establishment of this council is a significant step towards improving literary engagement and community involvement in book-related activities. It will serve as a platform for collaborative decision-making on issues pertinent to book promotion.”

The council’s objectives include organizing literary events, supporting local authors, expanding library collections, and implementing innovative programs to attract a wider audience to the world of books, thereby contributing to the intellectual and cultural development of Kashmar.
