Yarmohammadi: The Only Library for the Visually Impaired in West Tehran Province is Active in Malard

In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Mohammadreza Yarmohammadi, the head of Malard’s Public Libraries, announced the active operation of the only specialized library for the visually impaired in the west of Tehran province, located in Malard. He stated that this library serves 50,000 visually impaired individuals across the western part of Tehran province.

Yarmohammadi emphasized the importance of access to reading materials for the visually impaired, highlighting the library’s role in providing braille books and audio resources. He noted that the library strives to offer a diverse collection to meet the varied interests of its patrons.

He further added, “The establishment of this library is a significant step towards promoting literacy and equal opportunities for our visually impaired citizens. We are also planning to expand these specialized services by creating dedicated sections for the visually impaired in other public libraries throughout the province.”
