Publishers’ Hands Are Not Empty / Digital Fight Against Book Thieves
Tehran, Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) – Iranian publishers are increasingly turning to digital solutions to combat book piracy, indicating that they are well-equipped to protect their intellectual property in the digital age.
According to the Union of Publishers and Booksellers, efforts to digitally confront book thieves have intensified. This includes leveraging advanced encryption technologies, digital watermarking, and continuous monitoring of online platforms to identify and take down unauthorized copies of books.
A spokesperson for the Union stated, “The digital realm has brought new challenges, but also new tools. Our hands are not empty in this fight. We are actively investing in robust digital rights management (DRM) systems and working with legal experts to prosecute those who illegally distribute our content.”
The rise of e-books and online distribution has made it easier for pirated versions to spread rapidly. Publishers are responding by educating the public on copyright laws, emphasizing the value of supporting original creators, and collaborating with internet service providers to curb illicit sharing.
This proactive stance by publishers aims to safeguard the livelihoods of authors, translators, and the entire publishing ecosystem, ensuring that creative works are adequately protected and compensated in the evolving digital landscape.
