Giveoran Qotur Village Now Has a Library

Urmia, Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) – The remote village of Giveoran Qotur in West Azerbaijan Province has officially opened its first public library, marking a significant step towards cultural development in rural areas.

The initiative, supported by local government and philanthropic organizations, aims to provide access to educational resources and promote reading among the village residents, especially children and adolescents. Previously, villagers had limited access to books and learning materials due to geographical isolation.

The newly established library features a diverse collection of books, including educational texts, fiction, and cultural literature. It also plans to host various programs such as storytelling sessions, reading clubs, and literacy workshops to engage the community.

During the inauguration ceremony, local officials highlighted the importance of libraries as centers for knowledge dissemination and community engagement. They expressed hope that the library would serve as a catalyst for intellectual growth and social development in Giveoran Qotur.

The project received widespread support from volunteers who helped in setting up the facility and categorizing the initial collection of over 2,000 books. Efforts are underway to expand the collection further and equip the library with digital resources.
